Cookie Policy
This policy explains what cookies are, which ones Money Behaves uses and how you can accept, reject or delete them.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser when you visit it. They help the website work properly, remember your choices and understand how it is used. Similar technologies, such as local storage, can also save small pieces of information on your device. In this policy, we call all of them “cookies”.
Some cookies are deleted when you close your browser (session cookies), while others stay on your device until they expire or until you delete them (persistent cookies). Cookies set by Money Behaves itself are first-party cookies; cookies set by other services are third-party cookies.
Cookies that are always active
Some cookies are strictly necessary for the website to work, so they do not need your consent. Money Behaves runs on WordPress, which may use cookies to check that your browser accepts cookies and, for authorized users only, to keep the administration session open. Our cookie consent tool also saves a cookie to remember the choices you make in the cookie banner, so we do not ask you again on every page.
These cookies do not identify you for marketing purposes and are not used to track you on other websites.
Preference cookies
If comments are open on a lesson and you choose to save your details, WordPress saves your name, email address and website in cookies, so you do not have to type them again the next time you comment. These cookies are only set if you tick that option, and they usually last about one year.
Statistics cookies
We may use Google Analytics, through Google Site Kit, to understand which lessons are read and how the website performs. If we do, Google Analytics sets cookies such as “_ga” and “_ga_” followed by an identifier, which can last up to two years. These cookies are only used if you accept statistics cookies in the cookie banner, and we look at the information as a whole, without using it to identify you.
Advertising cookies
Money Behaves uses Google AdSense to show ads, which helps keep the website free. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure how ads perform and prevent fraud. Some of these cookies, such as “__gads” and “__gpi” on this website or “IDE” on Google’s doubleclick.net domain, can last up to about 13 months.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this and other sites on the internet. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, personalized ads are only shown if you accept advertising cookies in the cookie banner. If you reject them, you may still see non-personalized ads, which are based on general information such as the page you are reading or your approximate location.
You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time in Google Ads Settings, or at aboutads.info for other participating vendors. To learn more, read how Google uses cookies in advertising and how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Embedded content
Some lessons may include content from other websites, such as videos. That content works as if you were visiting the other website, so the provider may use its own cookies when it loads or when you interact with it, especially if you are signed in to an account with them. Their own cookie and privacy policies explain how they use this information.
How to manage your choices
When you first visit Money Behaves, a cookie banner lets you accept all optional cookies, reject them or choose by category, including statistics and advertising cookies. You can change your mind at any time by opening the cookie settings again from the website, and you can withdraw your consent as easily as you gave it.
You can also view, block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge all let you do this from their privacy or security settings. Keep in mind that blocking all cookies may stop some features from working, and deleting cookies will also delete your saved cookie choices, so the banner will appear again. Your choices apply only to the browser and device you are using.
Information about browser privacy signals, such as Do Not Track, is available in our Privacy Policy.
Changes and contact
We may update this Cookie Policy when we add or remove tools or when legal requirements change. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date of its last update. To learn how we handle your personal data, read our Privacy Policy.
